The following are actual snap shots of our Membership Module at work on a clients eCommerce site, as well as a few implementation details of our system.
First, a Membership Landing page needs to be created explaning the benefits that are being offered to the customers. This landing page is where the traffic of interest will be directed to.
Customers can be lead to a Membership Landing page by mentions of savings on your product listings. As an example, near a product listing's selling price, a mention of an additional savings can be placed linking directly to the membership page.
Promotional graphics that are strategically place throughout your site can also be implemented to promote this membership option.
Another great and effective way to promote this membership is through email campaigns directly targeting all of your registered customers.
This system will also be tied to your customers' data base as well. So the billing information fields will be auto-populated if the customer is already logged in.
Once a customer completes the purchase form and agreed to the membership terms, they will then be taken to a purchase confirmation page, where they can double check their submitted information and complete their transaction.
When the customer checkouts properly, they are then taken to a Purchase Success Page, stating their membership purchase confirmation number and other account details. An email confirmation is also sent to the customer as their purchase receipt.
All membership purchases that have been made will be recorded on an independant report page, that might be similar to your site's order history page located in your site's Administration area.
